We provide comprehensive assessments for autism for late teens and adults. We know that seeking an autism assessment can be a big decision, and we are here to answer any questions that you might have. We are a caring, neuroaffirmative practice, and will do all that we can to ensure our assessment process is supportive and beneficial for you, whatever the outcome.
Our assessments are completed as a team, and you will be meet by at least two of our clinicians. This is in line with best practice in the NICE guidelines.
If possible, our assessment will include somebody who knows you well. Ideally this will be someone who knew you in childhood (such as a parent) as well as someone who knows you well now. It helps if you have evidence from childhood, such as school reports but if this isn't possible, then we can still go ahead.
Whilst some aspects of assessment can be completed online, it is essential for us to meet you in person for others. We use clinical spaces in central Scotland, Glasgow and Edinburgh for these meetings, and can discuss which is most suitable for you when you get in touch.
It may be possible to complete your assessment and feedback in the same day in some instances.
Your assessment will include:
We suggest booking an optional pre-screen appointment ahead of your comprehensive assessment. This 1 hour online session costs £180, which will be deducted from your full assessment cost should you go ahead with the full assessment. In this session we complete brief screening measures and have a discussion about the reasons you are seeking assessment. This is intended as a space to ask questions and confirm that you would like to go ahead.
An autism assessment costs £1,800. If you undertake an optional pre-screen appointment, this will be deducted from the cost of your assessment.
A combined autism and ADHD assessment costs £2,750.
